There's One Cop Who's Glad A Civilian Interfered
-
The reward for a Good Samaritan who shot a guy who was attacking a state trooper after a car chase? An investigation lasting several months. But now the state attorney's office is saying that the shooter was justified, applying Florida's Stand Your Ground law -- if you're protecting someone from possible serious injury or death, you're immune from prosecution. Is that how the law should be applied? Should non-police officers have immunity when they use guns to intervene? (WBBH-TV/Fort Myers; Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link)
