Because It Worked So Well For The Election

So, you're a Democrat in Congress and your constituents are SCREAMING for you to do something, ANYTHING to fight Trump. Do you fight or try to play the cards you've been dealt? Because there's a danger in the fight: You don't have the votes, but more importantly, and a point I think is missing from the analysis, the opposition doesn't have a unified plan, an alternative to offer. That could be trouble when trying to appeal to the less-committed voters who switched from Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016. Voting for someone who really didn't have a plan but offered "hope" has burned them twice; it may work again, but they also may be more than fed up with politicians who don't have answers for them.
