If It Was Perfect, It Would Kinda Suck
-
The Best Picture screw-up wasn't the only screw-up at the Oscars: They used the wrong picture of one of the deceased in the "In Memoriam" segment, and the picture they used was of a live producer, Jan Chapman, and not the dead costume designer Janet Patterson. Chapman is not happy. At least she's alive, though. And, yes, snubs: they left Robert Vaughn, Garry Shandling, Florence Henderson, and Doris Roberts out of the "In Memoriam" montage. (Bill Paxton didn't make the cut but was mentioned by Jennifer Aniston; David Bowie and Alan Rickman were in last year's montage.) But the Best Picture mistake was epic. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
