Forget The Taste. How Many Before You Don't Care That You're At 30,000 Feet Anymore?
-
So Cathay Pacific Airlines has introduced a beer that they say overcomes a problem I bet you never noticed: they say beer tastes different at 30,000 feet and have brewed a beer that tastes good despite the noise, pressure, plastic cups, etc. that are blamed for changing your sense of taste up there. And, apparently, everything, including food, tastes worse because of that, other than umami, for some reason (which is why Bloody Marys taste better up there). Though I doubt you're ordering beer or food up there because you care about the taste. (New York Times)
