Ever worked at someplace where you knew someone on the staff was a spy for the big bosses? This happens in every industry, and it's now happening in the Federal government, with the White House openly installing political aides at Cabinet agencies to report back to the President on what's going on. Needless to say, staffers at the agencies are not happy, and you can understand why: Who wants to work with someone looking over their shoulder all the time? On the other hand, should the President have total detail on what's happening at the agencies under his watch? What's the proper line between oversight and suffocating spying? (Washington Post)
