Though It WOULD Be Fun To Call Balls And Strikes From Your Living Room
-
Not a moment too soon... actually, a little late, but the rules of golf have been changed to prevent TV viewers from calling in violations that can't be seen with the naked eye. If that was the rule a few weeks ago, we might not have had the Lexi Thompson disaster in which a TV viewer buttinsky caused her to get a retroactive four stroke penalty for what was a pretty minor and inconsequential marker violation. But they did not totally ban calling in violations, not yet. Really, what other sport would let someone watching on TV interfere with the officiating, good or bad? (Los Angeles Times)
