They'll Have To Pry That Capri Sun Pouch Out Of Kids' Cold, Sticky Hands

The American Academy of Pediatrics is telling parents not to give kids fruit juice, or to at least severely restrict it. Why? Because you get the same benefits, nutritionally, plus added fiber if you EAT fruit rather than drink it. Plus, eating takes longer, so you'll ingest less of it (and in turn less sugar). And there's tooth decay to worry about, too. The alarms they're sounding might be a tad overstated, but, really, kids don't need juice so much as they need fruit in general. (Los Angeles Times)
