But It's Not A Celebration Without A Giant Rubber Duck, So...
-
You've seen that giant inflatable rubber duck floating in the harbor at events all over the place, right? They're bringing it to Toronto for Ontario's 150th birthday celebration this year, but it's mired in controversy because it's going to cost them $200,000 to do it. $200,000? Grants are covering most of it, but not all, and the question is why the province would spend even a penny of taxpayer funds to bring a huge rubber duck to town, especially since it's estimated to bring in a grand total of $20 in visitor spending. I'm also wondering how it costs $200,000 for THAT. (Toronto Sun)
