They Probably Could Have Found A Real Rock Much Easier, But Whatever
-
Drivers on a toll highway in Orange County know a particular boulder at the roadside -- it's been there forever and it's a landmark seen from both directions. It's also a fake. Yes, there's a fake rock at the roadside. It's hollow. Why? Well, 19 years ago, when they built the road, the real rock was taken out by El NiƱo rains. So the contractor, wanting to return the area to its previous state, had the crews build a new boulder from concrete and rebar. And now you know you've been fooled. (KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
