Try Renting A Car. The Fee Situation's Even Worse
-
If you're supportive of the current House majority, perhaps you can explain to your listeners how they will benefit from Congress considering a bill to let airlines exclude taxes from fare ads like they used to before the law changed. The airlines say nobody else has to disclose taxes and fees in their ads, but air fares are different: A $99 fare can easily turn into much, much more, and it's in your interest for them to tell you what you're looking at in out-of-pocket expense. It's purely in the airlines' interest to omit those taxes and fees, because it's easier to bait-and-switch you if they can advertise a low fare that won't be so low in reality. How is that a good thing for consumers? (USA Today)
