Privacy Is Dead, And It's Been Killed By Stupidity
-
Washington State University is the latest institution to take people's privacy and the sanctity of personal information with no consideration of security at all, losing a hard drive with over a million people's information because someone put it on a hard drive and put it in a storage locker, housed in a cheap safe. Whoops. And a lot of the people whose social security numbers, etc. were on the hard drive didn't even know that their information had been sucked up by the college. The school has to pay for identity protection service for anyone who wants it, but that's not enough, is it? (Seattle Times)
