Congress can't seem to get around to doing anything about hotel resort fees, so instead of making hotels more clearly disclose the fees in advance -- or, heaven forbid, include the fees in the rate quotes -- hotels are taking the opportunity to raise those mandatory fees. Every hotel in Vegas now seems to be on board, and I've been hit with them in places that are hardly "resorts." They pack things like spa access and Wi-fi into the fees, but we're talking around $30 a night, and that's ridiculous. (Washington Post)
