That's A Lot Of Effort For A Minor Chuckle

More Twitter magic: An account for McDonald's Hong Kong suddenly started tweeting weird pleas like "please kill me I wish to die" and "where is my son they took my son." Rogue employee? No: It turns out that the account wasn't even a McDonald's account, and someone took the time and effort to tweet corporate PR first to make it seem realistic. In fact, it was SO realistic that the REAL McDonald's Twitter account even tagged it in its own tweets, before the meltdown, that is. The moral is, if you're a corporation, you need to grab every Twitter handle even remotely close to yours. And keep track of them. (Washington Post)
