Are We Sure This Wasn't Just A Scene From 'Silicon Valley'?

It was a small anecdote in his biography, and an article at Business Insider mentioned it in passing, but Jalopnik took note of how ludicrous it was, and so we have this story of Elon Musk firing his loyal assistant of 12 years because she asked for a raise. Worse is how he did it: He told her to take two weeks off while he decided if the company could run without her. Which he decided it could. That's a very science-brain thing to do; of COURSE companies can run in one person's absence. That doesn't mean they're not valuable. And he DID IT TO HIS EX-WIFE, TOO: He ripped her management of their home for the same reason. Genius or not, could you tolerate working for someone like that? (Jalopnik)
