It Was Always This Way Even Before YouTube

Over the years, we've had a lot of stories about teens doing stuff that gets them killed, and the first impulse is to say, well, that was stupid. But sometimes it's just kids being kids and judging them harshly is unfair, because all kids do risky, stupid things under the impression that they're immortal, and it's just sad and unfair that some kids don't survive their youthful impulses. Take this kid who did what, apparently, many kids have done over the years, jump into a popular but dangerous swimming hole by a Minnesota creek and was swept away in the rain-swollen creek and died. They say he liked to be daring, and that's something kids do that most grow out of. It's sad when a teen doesn't get the chance to grow out of the "hey, watch this" phase of his life.
