It's Just Like Home, If Your Home Sucks
-
You know, I've stayed at one of the hotels mentioned in this column, the hotel with the window in the shower, and it's just one bizarre -- and deliberate -- hotel design flaw that happens when the people making the design calls care more about being "edgy" and less about how customers actually use hotel rooms. From two-way mirrors -- are the designers peeping toms? -- to making power outlets as inaccessible as possible in an age when travelers need outlets to charge their devices... I'll add bathrooms with sliding doors that don't completely seal it off from the rest of the room. And TVs mounted so that they can't be comfortably watched from the bed or couch or desk. And lights with no visible indication of an on-off switch. Or closets without doors. Oh, I got a million of 'em. (Washington Post)
