Good Thing I Prefer Unpopular Entertainment. Easier To Score Good Tickets
-
Why you can't get good tickets for events: Ticketmaster is suing a ticket broker it says used a bot army to buy up 30,000 tickets to "Hamilton." Over 20 months, the bots bought 20-30% of available tickets to the musical. When you go online to try to buy tickets, that's what you're up against. Yes, they use Captchas, and yes, the bot army has ways around that. The flip side of this is that the resellers getting the tickets mean there are more available on places like StubHub, so if you're the kind of buyer who'd rather wait and who's willing to pay more for the convenience of not having to spend hours online battling to buy tickets, scalping isn't necessarily a bad thing.
