On Second Thought, I'll Have The Salad Instead
-
Indigenous peoples in Canada have a tradition of eating it, but when it landed on the menu at a Toronto restaurant, it became a problem. "It" refers to seal meat. You can see where this is going. One online petition is demanding that the restaurant stop serving it. Another comes to the restaurant's defense as an Indigenous restaurant. So you have animal rights activists versus supporters of Indigenous peoples' rights. By the way, they serve the meat in tartare style, in case you were wondering what it's like. (CBC)
