If you need further proof that Sears is in deep, deep trouble, the store will no longer sell Whirlpool appliances. They have been selling Whirlpool stuff for over 100 years. Sears says that Whirlpool had insisted on demands that made it difficult for Sears to sell the stuff at a competitive price, but you can imagine that some of that involved the desire of Whirlpool to guarantee that it will get paid for its products. You have to look at Sears and Kmart with some astonishment: How are they still open? (AP via Chicago Tribune)
