If You Can See It From Space, Maybe You'd Better Tone It Down
-
Every year, there are reports about excessively ornate and elaborate Christmas light displays. And sometimes, there's pushback, like in Fairfield, CT, where a house with 300,000 lights has drawn a petition from the neighbors asking the town to step in because of the traffic from 30,000 annual visitors. Meanwhile, out here, one of the L.A. area's many Candy Cane Lanes draws so many people to a Woodland Hills neighborhood that some of the homeowners are threatening to pull the plug due to traffic, trash, and vandalism. Is the joy of seeing people come to see your handiwork worth the trouble? (Connecticut Post; KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
