Either Way, We Can All Agree That Neckties Are Stupid, Right?
-
It happened fairly slowly, but here we are: The power suit is no longer a requirement in business. Sure, lots of men wear suits and some companies and professions frown on anything less formal, but informal business-casual clothing is now the norm. Blame Silicon Valley, where jeans and hoodies and black turtlenecks (RIP Mr. Jobs) became the uniform. And suits themselves changed, with Tom Ford skinny suits replacing the more conservative look. Suits don't mean power anymore. They're more a style thing. Who knew that jeans and t-shirts would be what the bosses wore, and suits would become what you'd wear to look cool? (Washington Post)
