Might Have Been A Different Result If They'd Made The Playoffs

A survey confirms that life in San Diego after losing the Chargers is actually pretty okay. A certain percentage misses them, but, overwhelmingly, the locals are happy they didn't give in to the Spanos' demands for a new stadium. This is the dirty secret of pro sports: Yes, die-hard fans get upset when their team moves, but life goes on, and the economic impact is minimal or nonexistent. Is Seattle less of a city without the Sonics? Did Vancouver really need the Grizzlies? Will St. Louis wither and die without the Rams? Nope. And L.A. was fine for 20 years without the NFL and isn't better off with two teams now. (San Diego Union-Tribune)
