They Don't Take Reservations Where I Eat. They Take Your Order At The Counter
-
Restaurants are increasingly going to war against no-show diners who skip out on reservations, because it costs them money, obviously. But should they, as some are doing, sell tickets to dinner? Should they require deposits? Should they make you put your credit card on the reservation like you're booking a hotel, and charge you if you don't cancel within a certain time? And if you're a customer, would making you pay up front or put a credit card on the reservation make you less likely to go out to eat? (The Guardian)
