The Unfairest Case Of Buyer's Remorse
-
The definition of unfair: Calaveras County, CA legalized pot growing in 2016. So many businesses moved there, paid a registration fee and taxes, and built an industry, only to suddenly find that county commissioners abruptly made their businesses illegal. Bait-and-switch, anyone? What happened is an election that changed the makeup of the board, and the new group hastened to vote 3-2 to outlaw what they'd made legal less than two years earlier. The interesting comment in the article is how someone said that if they wanted that kind of life, they'd have moved to Oakland. I wonder what they mean by that, by which I mean that I think I know.
