The Defense Would Like To File A Loco-Motion, Your Honor

Bands can't seem to just break up amicably, and so we have Grand Funk Railroad members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher suing former frontman Mark Farner for using the band's name in promoting his solo tour, like "Mark Farner's American Band" (yes, they have a trademark for "American Band") and "Mark Farner, formerly from Grand Funk Railroad." The arcane details of trademark law aside, can't they work this out? If it's absolutely true that he was indeed from the band, should be be able to say so if he makes clear that it's just him with another bunch of musicians? There has to be a way to negotiate this out without lawyers. (Grand Rapids Press/MLive.com)
