At Princeton, cheating has always been judged harshly, with suspensions and black marks on your record, even though it's all handled through an honor code. Students are now pushing for lighter penalties, saying that one slip shouldn't torpedo your academic career and what about if it's the result of mental distress and all that. Have times changed so much that cheating in academia is now no big deal? Because that HAS been the evolution of some people's thinking about plagiarism, and it's disturbing. (NJ Advance Media/NJ.com)
