A South Jersey town has dropped prayers from city meetings, and the report on this indicates that people are upset, but they don't really cite any specific people, just one councilman who says he got complaints and isn't happy but will comply. They also don't ask anyone the real question, which is why they ever bothered with a prayer in the first place, since it has nothing to do with city business, violates the Constitution, and is almost universally ignored or recited by rote by everyone in the room when there IS a prayer.
