You'll Sleep When You're Dead? That Might Be Sooner Than You'd Like
-
You already know, especially if you're older than 50, that it gets increasingly hard to get a good night's sleep as you age. But there wasn't a clear explanation of why. A new study is trying to get to the bottom of it, and suggests that it's about light sensitivity, but in a weird way: part of your brain gets LESS sensitive to light, which would seem to make it easier to sleep, but, no, it screws with your body's circadian rhythms. So it's not just that you have to run to the bathroom every few hours. Not that you don't. (Science Daily)
