It's 'Act First, Ask For Forgiveness Later,' Only Without The Ask-For-Forgiveness Part

In case you hadn't put tech bros and venture capitalists on your list of worst people on Earth, read this article about the guy behind putting undocked rental electric scooters on city sidewalks. He's an Uber veteran -- of course -- so he didn't bother with permits or asking anyone if they wanted this, he just pretty much dumped scooters all over cities and people can use them and leave them strewn wherever they want. Your home or business can end up with people abandoning the things in front of your door. The idea is that he hires people to go get them and pays them a bounty for each one returned, but that's still going to leave scooters laying on sidewalks and in streets. He does not care, because he can make money -- or at least raise investment -- on this while claiming to be doing something good for society. (New York Times)
