A Little Something To Remember Him By
-
It required a sequence of unfortunate events -- a guy died and was cremated, five years later some of the remains were sent to a son, the urn he ordered wasn't ready, the son let a friend borrow his car, the friend was unlicensed and crashed the car -- for cops to mistake the remains for heroin. The cops even injected Narcan into the groggy friend, assuming that he might be nodding off. Can't they do a quick test on the scene? I guess not. Also, the dead guy? Retired cop. There's almost TOO much information here. (Kennebec Journal)
