Suddenly, people are noticing that everyone's overusing exclamation points, even in business communications. Exclamation points are for emphasis, and should rarely be used. But people might fear that the stuff they put in an email (or subject line) doesn't convey the positive or enthusiastic aspects enough. Whatever you're thinking, back off the exclamation points. And let me just say that it goes double for press releases, which have become overrun with overenthusiasm. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
