Not That Soccer Fans Are Known For Tolerance
-
The first home match for soccer's LAFC featured a sellout crowd chanting a gay slur at the Seattle goalkeeper. The slur in question is in Spanish, and it's a common thing at Mexican national team matches for fans to yell it at the other team's goalie. The league and the team are now both condemning the chant and trying to figure out what to do about it. Should they throw the chanters out? How do you do that with thousands of people? Is this a culture clash or just inexcusable no matter what it is? (KNBC-TV/Los Angeles)
