There is no shortage of jobs in the fast-food industry. There is a shortage of teenagers to do the jobs. Too many jobs, and too many teens who won't do them. The restaurants are raising wages, but that isn't drawing the teens, who are more likely to be working at independent jobs like running local service businesses of their own. And with the immigration crackdown, that might cut off another resource for the industry. This is probably going to mean your burger will get more expensive. Or they quickly perfect the burger flipping robot. Or both. (New York Times)
