Whenever I see stories about fatal street racing crashes like this one in which two children were killed when a racer crashed into a family's car, and I see that the racer is likely to be charged with "vehicular manslaughter," I wonder why they don't just charge him with murder. I mean, you know that what you're doing is dangerous, you know that it could kill someone, you do it anyway, you kill someone -- you knew or should have known the consequences. If you know what you're doing stands a good chance of killing someone and you do it anyway... well, manslaughter seems to be undercharging. (KCBS-TV/Los Angeles)
