You Can Take Some Things With You
-
This is tricky: The family of a young woman killed in the FIU pedestrian bridge collapse in Miami has her unbroken iPhone, and they want to see what's on it, but they can't unlock it. She used Touch ID, and they don't know the code to bypass that. They CAN get whatever she stored in iCloud by producing a death certificate and other material, but they can't get at what's on the phone. But there's another side to this: Did she WANT them to see what was on her phone? What if there's very personal and possibly explicit stuff on there? Do you want YOUR family to have access to what's on your phone after you're gone? (Miami Herald)
