'Affordable' Is A Flexible Term

Remember when Elon Musk announced the Tesla 3 and people jumped to give him money to reserve a spot on the list to buy one because it was going to be a $35,000 Tesla? Turns out that you can't buy a $35,000 Tesla and you may have little or no chance of getting one. That $35,000 price point was supposed to get you a bare bones model with lesser range, but they aren't making those as part of the initial run of Model 3s because the margins aren't there; they'll sell you something $10,000 or more above that price point instead, so they can make more money.
