Not That There Are A Lot Of People Clamoring For The Job
-
The driver in the fatal New Jersey school bus crash was 77 years old and had his license suspended 14 times over the years, six for unpaid parking tickets but eight speeding tickets, a careless driving ticket, and a summons for unsafe operation of a motor vehicle are also on his record. Yet someone looked at his record (or didn't bother) and decided that, yeah, this guy's fine to drive a busload of kids around. Are the standards lower than you thought, or has the trope of the bad school bus driver become so ingrained that we practically expect all of them to be comically bad? (Bergen Record)
