Not Your Standard Love Story
-
Twenty years ago, a guy was in the news for having his friends and family pick out a wife for him from a group of 23 women. It was like "The Bachelor," only before "The Bachelor," and he got married to the winner, who he barely knew, at the Mall of America. He died of cancer at just 48 this weekend, and you're expecting to hear how the marriage didn't last, but the topic here is that it DID last, they had four kids, and they were happy, which raises the question of what true love really is and whether you can find it with someone you don't know and who got picked out by your family and friends -- almost an arranged marriage. In this case, it worked. (St. Paul Pioneer Press)
