No Lines At The Cinnabon

Is your airport a crowded, chaotic mess? Yeah, mine too. But there's one where there's plenty of open space and no crowds, which may seem like travel Nirvana to you but turns out to be a problem: Memphis International Airport was expanded when they projected a lot more passengers passing through, and is now too big. What happened? Well, the place USED to be a hub for Northwest Airlines, but when Delta swallowed Northwest, they decided they didn't need to use Memphis as a hub with Atlanta relatively close by. And traffic dropped from over 11 million passengers in 2007 to 4 million last year. So they're going to have to spend another $219 million to close one concourse and renovate it, then move everything in there and basically close the other two concourses. The place is a ghost town. Would you rather have that or a bustling, crowded hub with a lot more flights? (New York Times)
