Maybe It WOULD Be Cheaper To Just Let Your Kid Play Video Games All Day
-
Being a youth sports parent is expensive. For baseball parents, it got more expensive this year, a LOT more expensive, because USA Baseball, the governing body over Little League and other youth organizations, has mandated a change in bats and the new ones are not cheap. They can run hundreds of dollars, and because you have to buy specific bats with the official (and literal) USA Baseball stamp of approval, you really have no other option. There's a reason for this, and you might know about it, how aluminum bats became more powerful and led to line-drive injuries. So that's important, but who has $350 or $400 to spend on your kid's baseball bat? Come to think of it, how CAN parents afford practically ANY youth sport these days, considering the price of equipment? (New York Times)
