It's Dangerous, But At Least The Kid Could Watch The Seat-Back TV Screen
-
Here's yet another case where an airline employee was flat out wrong, yet, because we all have to show complete deference to all airline personnel, a passenger had to acquiesce: A mother did as required and bought a second seat for her baby, then installed the baby's car seat properly, facing the back. But a United gate agent came aboard and insisted that she turn the seat around and face it forward, which is, of course wrong and dangerous, and threatened that the plane would not take off until she complied. The mom had to turn the seat around, and of course there was turbulence, requiring mom to hold the baby down. About 20 minutes before landing, a flight attendant came over, said she'd (finally) read the manual, and admitted they'd made a mistake. Shouldn't they read the manual BEFOREHAND? Come to think of it, shouldn't they all be trained in these things? (WPVI-TV/Philadelphia)
