If I'd Wanted To Ride The Bus, I'd Have Flown Southwest Or Spirit
-
Alaska Airlines recently put a new policy into effect in the San Francisco area, where they have a sort-of hub: Because SFO gets socked in by fog so much, and because they have plenty of gates at Oakland and San Jose, when there are flight delays at SFO, they'll fly you to an alternate airport and bus you to SFO. The question is whether you'd rather they do that or whether you'd rather wait to get to the airport you chose. In some cases, the time savings are cancelled out by the time it takes to ride the bus, but in others, it might save you a lot of time. What's your preference? (San Francisco Chronicle)
