Now, It's Art

This very long and unnecessarily detailed story is about a Blockbuster Video sign that inexplicably still towers over 24th and Passyunk in Southwest Philadelphia. It's 78 feet high, and it used to be in front of an actual Blockbuster store, but, of course, the store, and chain, are long gone. Nobody seems to know why the sign was left there. The article actually discusses whether the sign could qualify for National Historical Landmark status, but is that a landmark? What makes a commercial sign a landmark? (WPVI-TV/Philadelphia)
