The Ocho Lives
-
The new world means that if you want to see something, however obscure, you can. And so we have streaming of obscure sports, from arm wrestling to combat karate. The good news is that it's all out there. The bad news is that for a lot of them, nobody's watching and the streaming services can't get rights to sports people WILL watch in enough volume to make a viable business model. You could say that this is how ESPN started, airing Australian Rules Football and other cheap-and-available programming until they could afford and get major sports, but that might be a tough road when pretty much anyone can create a streaming network, including the sports leagues themselves.
