Why You Might Not Say Something When You See Something
-
You know about all the shootings in Chicago. And you may know that one of the problems in solving the cases is that the victims -- really, everyone involved -- won't snitch when they know who did it. Snitches, as you've undoubtedly heard, get stitches. You don't want stitches. But if you're appalled that the local culture, as it is in many places, is to not turn in people who do bad things, ask yourself, would you snitch? Because telling the cops who shot you, or stole something, or did anything will put a target on you. It's easy to say you'd be brave, but you can't blame anyone for fearing the consequences.
