Do They Go With Mom Jeans?

Until I saw this article, I had no idea that a) there's such a thing as "dad sneakers," and b) they're suddenly and inexplicably back in style for non-dads. They're described as generally white and chunky and thick-soled and designed for comfort rather than looks, which, okay, fine, but now they're making the most expensive sneakers in that style, so I'm baffled. I actually need to switch from Chuck IIs because of foot problems and I don't like flashy and expensive shoes like NBA players are wearing, but does that mean "dad sneakers"? (USA Today)
