Just Remember, The Rich Always Manage To Get Richer

Seattle's debate over whether to spend $180 million on renovations of Safeco Field or use the money on affordable housing is one that could be held anywhere. Why should the city hand over tax money to benefit a successful, cash-rich business? Why the M's and not, say, any company headquartered in the city? Why can't the team pay for the work itself, since it will be the primary beneficiary? (It's not a question of raising taxes- that already happened, with the hotel/motel tax. They're collecting the money. It's how to spend it that's become the issue.) (KIRO-TV/Seattle)
