Beats A Tent, I Suppose

We know that San Francisco is insanely expensive. The San Francisco Chronicle's SFGate.com has launched a series about people who have unconventional living arrangements as a result of the cost of housing, and this guy's is a winner: For $350 a month, he lives in a garage. He rents a house with three other people; they have regular rooms, and he took the garage. His "room" is, in fairness, a lot larger than theirs, but, still, it's a garage, with the requisite lack of heating and cement walls and floors and all of that. He hung sheets over exposed wiring and pipes, had the place professionally scrubbed, and, voila, a room, which may or may not be legal but sure is cheaper than anything else in The City. Could you live like that? (SFGate.com)
