Okay, Not There. So, Then, Where?

What do you do with, and for, the homeless? The debate always come down to the fact that nobody wants whatever's done to be in their neighborhood. That doesn't help anything, but you wouldn't want your neighborhood to be the city's dumping ground for a problem it can't solve. And so we have the San Pedro area of Los Angeles, which is already a place where a lot of homeless people are stuck, and where the city wants to establish a new homeless shelter and encampment. The locals have had enough and there are protests and vigils and battles with the area's councilman, who supports the temporary shelter. But what nobody seems to be able to answer is what to do if this plan isn't the right answer. (Daily Breeze, Torrance)
