An AP poll shows that most people don't care if a candidate has strong religious beliefs; even more don't care if the candidate doesn't share their own religious beliefs. You'd think it was political poison to skip church or not be devout enough, yet we elected a guy who probably couldn't find a church if you gave him a map and plunked him in front of the building, so it really doesn't matter much, with one caveat: Republicans think it's at least moderately important, which doesn't explain their support of Trump. And a majority of white evangelical Protestants feel that way, too. So there you go. (AP via Minneapolis Star Tribune)
